Cancellations, Transfers, and Refunds

Computer-Delivered IELTS Policies

Request for cancellation or transfer of your IELTS Computer-Based test must be made in writing via e-mail ONLY. Telephone cancellation or transfer will not be accepted. Please read through the policy below to ensure you are eligible. Follow the instructions below if eligible to apply for a cancellation or transfer.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation made more than 7 days prior to the test date – test taker will receive a full refund less $75.00 administrative fee.
  • Cancellation less than 7 days ahead of the test date – test taker will receive NO refund.
  • Failure to appear for the test without notification is considered a cancellation and NO refund will be issued. The test taker must re-apply.

Transfer Policy

  • Request for IELTS Test Day Transfer must be made more than 7 days prior to the elected test date (without penalty). Transfer dates will depend on availability.
  • Test takers who wish to transfer less than 7 days prior to the elected test date will be treated as a cancellation and will receive NO refund, and must re-apply.
  • Transferring your test is free on the first occasion. However, there will be a $75 administrative charge for any additional test day transfers

Test takers seeking cancellation or transfer within the 7 days prior to the IELTS test date will only receive a refund or transfer if they can provide evidence that their ability to sit the test has been affected by temporary injury, illness, or unforeseeable events beyond a test taker’s control:

  • A traumatic experience
  • Domestic crisis
  • Unavoidable legal or military obligation
  • Serious medical conditions which prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day.
  • Bereavement, or other forms of significant hardship.

Test takers must file an application for transfer or refund no later than two(2) working days after the test date. You must complete a “Request for Refund or Test Day Transfer Form” and attach appropriate documentation and/or evidence – medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death notice or certificate or a police report.

Refunds

Refunds are paid through PayPal or by e-transfer and usually take three to four weeks from the date of the request to be processed and mailed.

Absent on Test Day

If a test taker is absent on the day of the IELTS test, the test taker will lose the full test fee and must re-apply.

Late Arrival on Test Day

If a test taker arrives after check-in has closed on test day, they will not be admitted to the test. Details pertaining to your expected arrival time will be found in your confirmation e-mail.

We will not accept any cancellation or transfer requests made less than 7 days before your test date unless you have an emergency with supporting document or inform us within 24 hours after making payment.
