Step 1: Find a test date and choose your test type

Visit our website to view available IELTS test dates.

Choose:

• Your preferred test date
• IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training
• Your preferred test time

Click Select and continue.

You will be redirected to bxsearch.ielts.idp.com to complete your registration.

Step 2: Select your Speaking test time  

Review the dates and times shown for:

• Listening, Reading and Writing
• Speaking

The system may automatically select the Best available Speaking appointment. Speaking appointments are displayed as 20-minute time slots.

To select another available appointment, click Change.

Step 3: Confirm who the booking is for 

Select the option that applies to you, then click Next step to continue.

*If the test taker is under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent during the registration process.

Step 4: Create or sign in to your IELTS account 

Enter the test taker’s email address to sign up for an IELTS account. Check the spelling carefully, as the email address cannot be changed later.

If you already have an account from a previous IELTS on Computer booking, sign in using the same email address and password. You can then continue to Step 5.

When you create an account for the first time, you will need to complete your profile by providing your First and Family name and mobile number.

Create your password, then read and agree to the IDP Terms and Conditions, Privacy and Data Policy and other required terms. Select Next to proceed.

You will need to Complete your profile to proceed. You must also include your Identification Document (ID) information.

The following IDs are accepted by IELTS Canada:

• Passport
• Canadian or International
• National Identity
• Canadian Permanent Resident Card
• Refugee Protection Claimant Document

Do not upload your driver's licence, ABID/BCID or other provincial ID card. Your application will not be verified without an approved document. Find out more about accepted documents here.

Enter the details exactly as they appear on the identification document.

Click Save and continue.

Step 5: Review your booking summary

Carefully review all the information in your IELTS Profile, including:

• Your name, date of birth, gender, and contact information
• Your level of education and years of English study
• Your identification type, number, nationality, and expiry date

Select Edit if you need to correct any information.

Next, review your booking details and confirm that the following are correct:

• Test type: IELTS on Computer Academic or General Training
• Listening, Reading and Writing date and time
• Speaking test date and time

Make sure the test type shown in your booking summary is the one you require before continuing.

Review the test fee, GST, and total amount under Payment Details.

Select the checkbox confirming that you have read and agreed to the applicable IELTS Terms and Conditions.

Then click Confirm and proceed with payment to complete your payment.

Step 6: Complete payment

Once you have created an account, choose how you want to pay.

Pay Online: Choose this if you want to pay with a credit or debit card.

Select your payment method: Paypal (click Pay with PayPal and you will be redirected to PayPal to complete your order.)

                *enter your email or mobile number if you have a PayPal account.

                *or, select Pay with Debit or Credit Card to check out as a guest.

Follow the instructions to complete your payment.

Pay Offline: Choose this if you want to pay via Interac e-Transfer.

Payment must be received within 48 hours of booking or before registration closes, whichever comes first. If payment is not received by the deadline, your reservation may be cancelled.

Send your payment to the test centre where you booked:

• Calgary: ieltscalgary@gvenglish.com
• Victoria: ieltsvictoria@gvenglish.com

Include the following information in the e-Transfer message:

• Test taker’s full name
• Test date
• Test type
• Test centre location

Email your e-Transfer confirmation to the same test centre email address.

After selecting your payment method, click Reserve now.

Step 7: Complete the final registration steps

Your test is temporarily reserved, but your booking may not yet be complete.

Confirm that the following required sections are marked Completed:

• About you
• Your address
• Your occupation

Review your booking details again, including:

• Test type
• Listening, Reading and Writing date and time
• Speaking test date and time

If payment is still required, select View payment instructions and complete your payment before the deadline. Your reservation may be cancelled if payment is not received.

Click Continue to next step.

Step 8: Upload your identification document

Upload a clear, high-quality colour image of your valid identification document.

Depending on the document, upload:

• The identification page of your passport
• The front page of your Canadian Permanent Resident Card
• Your Refugee Protection Claimant Document

Your uploaded image must clearly show the following, where applicable:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Photograph
• Identification document number
• Expiry date
• Signature

Make sure the entire document is visible. The image must not be blurry, cropped, covered, altered, or obstructed by glare.

We recommend uploading your identification immediately after booking so our team has enough time to review your application.

If your identification image is not accepted, you will receive an email asking you to upload a new one. Your application will remain Unverified until the document has been reviewed and approved.

Step 9: Review the biometric verification information

Read the biometric verification information and consent statement carefully.

To continue, select the checkbox confirming your consent to the collection and use of your biometric verification data as described. Then click Continue.
